A Happier Time
"Everyone encounters a certain amount of depression and anxiety in day to day life, but once it starts to interfere with how we live, that's when it becomes an issue. " - Dr. Timothy Ryan Newton (6/6/19)
Sometimes it just takes one person to listen and understand, to change everything. I had a friend, Camron, who told me that it seemed like I had depression, and I should see a doctor about it. I've ALWAYS blown off the idea of going to the doctor about depression, because I didn't think there was anything he could do, except put me on some pills to mask the pain, but for some reason, this stuck with me. Everytime I would get sad, and remember how Camron suggested to go to the doctor.
Today, I somehow managed to go to the doctor concerning depression, start a prescription of antidepressants, a follow up appointment, and get counseling booked all without my parents finding out. I was amazed and overwhelmed at just how understanding and caring Doctor Newton was. An hour before the appointment, I was in my room, on the ground, crying because I was afraid he was going to tell me that I was overreacting. I wish I could have said something sooner, so I could have started this journey long ago.
I leave Sunday morning to head for Canada, and when I get back after a week, I start on my dosage of escitaloprám. I'll let you know how things go after I start counsel.
Kiddos, I hope that you guys get the chance to have Doctor T as your doctor someday.
