The Wait is Sexy

There's something that the church doesn't talk about, and it dearly needs to be spoken: sex

There is so much that you will experience in this lifetime, but I hope none of it is what I've had to experience.

> By the age of 18, I had kissed 10 people, because I felt pressured. Only three of them were consented.
> My first kiss was by a married man who was grooming me
> So many guys had taken advantage of my inability to say no, that I just felt like an object to people.

Don't be awkward, and act like you don't know what it is. 😑
16% of kids start having intercourse under the age of 15.
46% of kids start having intercourse between the ages of 15-19.
38% of adults start having intercourse after the age of 19.

Here are somethings you need to know to prepare yourself as you get closer to that age:

1. It's okay to be curious, it's how you learn, but you need to learn in a safe and healthy way. I.e., sexual education class, asking a trusted adult, or watching EDUCATIONAL videos online, not pornography.

Pornography is like a movie. There's a fake plot with lots of takes, lots of acting, lots of editing, and nothing is real, boobs and all. People are lead to porn whenever they feeling sexually suppressed. You can't go out and experience it on your own, but you can get the same feelings from a video. Trust me, I know. Porn only leads to unhealthy expectations.

2. Sex isn't bad, sex is awesome. I think repeatedly telling and shaming children to not have sex is a terrible strategy. Here's what people mean to say when they say, "sex is bad."

Sex is a VERY INTIMATE thing that God created for two people. It bonds you two together chemically, emotionally, and even changes your body. Sex was created to make children, not solely for pleasure. Sex becomes toxic when it's used incorrectly like: to get attention/feel wanted, to get someone to 'love you', to become 'cool', or to fit in.

3. There is a reason people advise you to wait. Something that got me in trouble was that I was only taught "sex is bad" and "flee from sexual immortality."  Sooo, like don't have sex because is awful and then God will punish you if you do???

Bias opinion: wait to have sex in marriage, but also wait to ever touch a penis/vagina, wait to see someone naked, wait to sleep in the same bed as you significant other, wait to say "I love you," and my biggest regret, wait to kiss someone. These are all things that once you do it, you'll never have another first time again. The mystery of what your significant other looks like in the morning will be gone, and that mystery is part of the joy of marriage. You get to experience all of these things FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH YOUR FOREVER PERSON!!! HOW FUN IS THAT?!?!! Being able to say, "I love you SO MUCH that I saved the most intimate humanly thing ever, just to experience with you." is so rewarding.

4. Most men are dogs. It's said that men are often times wanting sex more than women, which isn't true. Men are more driven by their hormones, and less by logic, because they don't mature as fast as women.

Girls: grown men WILL contact you, and try to sleep with you in very subtle ways. I advise you, until you're in your mid 20s, never talk to men more than 5 years older than you over social media privately AND/OR in person privately. It will not always lead to something, but you will never know if one time it will, until it's too late. If guys compliment you, thank them for the compliment, and move on or keep walking.

Boys: Respect women enough to not go after their body. Here's something that will help you keep it all in prospective: you can get sex from ANYONE, but it takes someone truly special to care for your soul and who you truly are. Having sex with that person, and that person alone, is an unforgettable experience every time. Women who are easy are NOT who you deserve or someone who will take care of you. They are only thinking about right now, and what they want.

5. You deserve someone who treats you as if you're the only person on this Earth, and nothing is more precious and valuable than you and your dignity. They should respect you enough to wait until marriage, and if they aren't, then they weren't good enough for you. Something even better always comes from heartbreak.

6. Above all else, do your research and no matter what, I'll always be here to help you understand better. I decided the save myself, because I found out that most people, Christian and non Christian alike, regret having sex before marriage. Getting into a dangerous position is easy, so always remember: it's easier to stay away from the edge of the cliff, rather than see how close you can get, and accidently fall off.

Pro tip: if you ever send nudes, know that it will not only be seem  by that one person. They WILL show other person or screenshot/take a picture of the screen to possibly use against you.  B E   C A R E F U L !
